Sanctuary currently consists of 26 members, all of them have been part of our guild for at least a year now. Others have been with us since day 1 in 2008. These numbers show Sanctuary has created a very stable and homely guild over the past few years. We would love to continue the same trend into Guild Wars 2, where we will establish and maintain our guild with the same ideals we always had.
However, in contrast to our previous played games such as Aion and Rift, we will make it our goal to stick with Guild Wars 2, whatever might happen. We would love to settle once and for all, and we all see Guild Wars 2 as the perfect game to achieve this.
Sanctuary will become what it always is ment to be, a friendly, active guild consisting of like-minded people: Sanctuarians. We shall remain a smaller guild, somewhere between 15-30 members, as long as we can do what we want to do. We do not plan to recruit new members, as we are certain that our current members will stick with our guild while they have Guild Wars 2 installed. We trust our members, as they trust in our guild. When we feel the urge to take in new members, we will only try to take in those that have bonds with our guild already, mostly friends of the guild or friends of our members.
We are not a strict guild, because we talk. As long as our members communicate, we will be able to achieve anything, as shown in the past. We used to be hardcore players, but for most of us those days are over. However, we will remain competitive and spend our time well as we would have done as hardcore players, namely pushing our boundries and setting an example. Duo'ing instances or 5-manning raid bosses is still on our list, as well as claiming top spots on PvP charts. We still have our hardcore touch, but we would love to approach it with a more relaxed feel. As long as we know what to expect from our members, we can work together to achieve what we all want to achieve. But above all, fun and friendship will be our base.
As always, Sanctuary will have daily scheduled guild events (raids, instances, pvp), but they will all be arranged in TeamSpeak. Just know we always start at a specific time, our MOTD, TeamSpeak and forum threads will always notify you beforehand that you can expect "something" at a certain time. We will make sure we do "endgame" as any other hardcore guild, and that we achieve any nolife guild would. It's no issue, as long as we spend our time well.
Right now, we are not recruiting, nor searching for new members. However, if you would still like to give an application a shot, you are free to do so. We wouldn't mind getting up to 30 members pre-launch, but know that we have very high standards in terms of personality. A Sanctuarian isn't just a player that logs on, signs up for scheduled events and just does his thing, you are expected to become a part of the family.
UPDATE: this stuff is already outdated.
